What are Carbohydrates?

Carbohydrates are a group of organic compounds, It is one of the three major food groups in addition to Proteins and Fats, more about Protein rich foods. It is made of the Elements Carbon (C), Hydrogen (H) & Oxygen (O). It provides the main Energy factor for the Human Body. Carbohydrates are the most common organic compound on earth and Glucose,  (in short, Glc) is the most common and most important organic Carbohydrate.


If so, what are “Good  Carbohydrates” & what are the “Bad Carbohydrates”

Well, the “Bad Carbs” are the one that is made of the simple compounds that  provides immediate Energy.

The “Good Carbs” are Starches, complex carbohydrates, which contain whole grains, minerals and vitamins and have a high fiber content. It is made of a Chain of simple carbs. Starches body decomposition process is more complicated and longer, so good Carbs takes longer to process and does not cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels and causes satiety for longer time.
